Marjorie E. White (nee: Derrickson) 86, of Oberlin passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Elmcroft of Lorain on Saturday December 13, 2014 following a long illness. She was born March 17, 1928 in Willard, Ohio. Marjorie attended school in Willard where she maintained many lifelong friendships. She was an extraordinarily devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She was also especially devoted to and loved her Indiana family. She was a diehard Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed playing Bingo, horse racing, fishing, reading, sewing, and her beautiful flower gardens. Survivors include her seven children, John White (Rick) of Bethesda, MD; Gregory White (Deborah) of North Ridgeville; Carol Tobiasz (Gary) of New Smyrna Beach, FL; Timothy White (Brenda) of Elyria; Susan Pyles (Robert) of North Ridgeville; Robert White (Anita) of Carlisle Township; and, Patricia Armstrong (Lance) of Wellington. Marjorie is also survived by twenty grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty two years; John White, her parents; John and Freida (nee: Mathys) Derrickson, originally from Indiana, a brother; Charles Derrickson and a sister; Lois King. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday December 18, 2014 and 10:00 AM to11:00 AM Friday December 19, 2014 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
