Marjorie R. Gradisek (nee: Pitts) 82, of Elyria Twp. passed away unexpectedly Sunday March 27, 2011. She was born April 22, 1928 in Lakewood. Marjorie was a 1947 North Ridgeville High School graduate. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Elyria and belonged to the church's Altar and Rosary Society. She had served as Presiding Judge for The Board of Elections for Elyria Twp., and was involved in various political activities in Lorain County. She had worked several jobs over the years; as a waitress at The Rustic in Rocky River, a secretary for Bendix in Elyria, and had worked with Lorain County Housing and Development, Lake Avenue Floor Covering and Hallmark Cards as a sales agent, and was a candy striper at Elyria Memorial Hospital. Marjorie was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and The Red Hat Society. Survivors include; two sons; Gary E. (Linda) of Vermilion, Gregory F. (June) of Elyria, two grandchildren; Grant and Erica Gradisek both of Elyria. Additional survivors include; two brothers; Donald Pitts (Patricia), and Richard Pitts (Christa) all of North Ridgeville, three nieces; Kathy Cather of LaGrange and Connie Schmitz and Claire Speir both of CO. Marjorie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and the neighborhood kids as a past Den Mother, and hosting pool parties. She was preceded in death by her husband; Edward whom she married May 30, 1949, her parents; Leo and Frieda (nee: Schneid) Pitts, a sister; Rita Kreiger, and two brothers; Leo and Carl Pitts.
