Marilyn L. Peloquin, (nee-Ursem), passed away peacefully tucked in her warm bed at home Thursday February 6, 2025, less than two weeks from her 81st birthday. Despite some health challenges Marilyn remained active to the end. She enjoyed, on television and in person, cheering her favorite sports teams including the Crushers, Cavaliers, Guardians, and yes even the Browns.

These events and her life were enriched by the companionship of her son Ron "Chip" Jr.. Her favorite place to travel to was Cook Forest, PA. which held a special place in her heart. Her family continues to visit today. Throughout her life she relished many roles as a daughter, sister, bookkeeper, employee at the Elyria YMCA and Elyria Catholic High School, but the thing that gave her the most joy was being married for 47 years to her late husband Ronald Sr. and the 5 children they raised together. The arrival of grandchildren, to whom she was affectionately known as Mimi, only increased the love she had to share with her family.

Marilyn was a lifelong Elyrian and devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She graduated from Elyria Catholic in 1962. She was the loving mother of Victoria (Michael) Griffin, Ronald "Chip" Peloquin Jr., James (Sandra) Peloquin, Jennifer (Richard) Knowlton and Kevin (Sandi) Peloquin all of Elyria; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Sr., her parents, Joseph and Marion Ursem and her brother, Edward. In addition to her children, she leaves her brother Tom to mourn her passing.

The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday February 14, 2025 at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. Please meet at church. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the church.
