Marilyn Ann Durban (Nee-Slade), 73, of Elyria passed away Sunday January 26, 2025 at the Lifecare Center of Elyria.
She was born March 1, 1951 in Washington, PA. where she was raised.
After having lived in Columbus and Lima she moved to Elyria in 1978.
Marilyn attended Immaculate Conception School in Pennsylvania and the Ohio State University before working in the Ohio House of Representatives and the committee to re-elect former President Nixon. In Lorain County she worked as an administrative assistant at Amherst and EMH Hospitals, retiring from the Elyria Public Library. She enjoyed cake decorating, water color painting, traveling and going to garage sales.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and served as its Parish Council Secretary for many years.
Survivors include her daughter Lana Durban Scott (son-in-law, Jason Scott) as well as her longtime companion Don Stewart. She was preceded in death by her parents John R. and Marie Flynn Slade and her brother, John David Slade.
The family will receive friends Friday January 31, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the Weigand Room at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary of the Church.
The Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick, Pastor, will be the Celebrant.
Burial will be private.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elyria.
