Marilyn Y. Pileski (nee: Cooper) passed away Saturday November 26, 2022 at home in Elyria with her loving husband Ted and daughter Lisa by her side after a long battle with multiple health issues. Marilyn was born in Welch, West Virginia and moved to Elyria as a young girl with her family.  She was a graduate of Elyria High School and Lorain County Community College. Marilyn worked for many years as the communications supervisor at Str. Joseph Hospital and Health Center in Lorain, and finished her working career as an administrative assistant in the Lorain County Solid Waste Department. Marilyn loved to travel and had visited Alaska, Aruba, Barbados, Cabo San Lucas, Costa Rica, the Finger Lakes Region of New York, Florida, Hawaii, Laguna Beach, Las Vegas, Maine, Martinique, Napa Valley, New Orleans, the Outerbanks, St. Maarten, Saint Thomas, San Diego, San Francisco. San Juan and Toronto with her husband Ted.  Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of thirty one years; Ted M. Pileski, a daughter; Lisa Leohr (Bruce Pasternak) of Elyria, and a brother; John Cooper (Linda) of Elyria.  She was preceded in death by her parents; Garfield and Gladys (nee: Burress) Cooper and a sister; Barbara Cooper. Marilyn's family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to Blaize Anderson for her vigilant care for Marilyn over the last four years. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Friday December 2, 2022 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626. A Celebration of Marilyn's life will be held at 7:00 PM Friday immediately following visitation. The Reverend Father Charles T. Diedrick, Pastor of St. Mary Church in Elyria will officiate.  Burial will be private.  The family suggests that memorial contributions in Marilyn's memory be sent to Friendship APL 8303 Murray Ridge Rd.
