Marie I. McCartney (nee Walter) 72 of Grafton, passed away Monday September 21, 2015 at Hospice of Medina County following a long illness. She was born September 28,1942 in Lodi, and was a Grafton resident for most of her life. Marie was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Grafton and was a 1960 Midview High School graduate. She formerly worked as a teller at the Grafton branch of the Elyria Savings and Trust (First Merit), and enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband of 49 years William "Bill" ; daughters Michelle (Kerry) Broschk and Renee (David) Hawke both of Grafton ; sons Michael (Christina) McCartney of Elyria and Mark (Danielle) McCartney of Medina ; grandchildren William , Alyson , Valeri , Broschk and Carter , Taylor , Jackson McCartney ; sister Linda Bliss of LaGrange ; sister-in-law Jane "Jeanette" McCartney of Elyria. She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Olevia Walter and a brother Leo Walter Jr. Family will receive friends 4-7 PM Thursday at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria . Closing Prayers will be at 9:30AM Friday September 25, 2015 in the funeral home, followed by a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 708 Erie St. Grafton. Rev. Fr.
