Obituary

Mariann Bockmore, 65, of Elyria passed away Sunday at her niece's home in Wellington following a long illness. She was born July 26, 1946 in Elyria and was a Elyria resident for most of her life. Mariann worked as a registered nurse at EMH Healthcare for 25 years, retiring in 1997. Following her retirement she worked as a nurse for the Elyria City School System. She volunteered with many community organizations, but closest to her heart was working with the Special Olympics. She also enjoyed ceramics, quilting and photography, and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria. Survivors include many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Frances Bockmore and brothers, William, Richard and David Bockmore. The family will receive friends Thursday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. 440-322-4626. Closing prayers will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Charles Diedrick, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria. In liue of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mariann's name to the School Employees Lorain County Credit Union 340 Griswold Rd. Elyria, OH. 44035.
