Marian Jean Polgar (nee Allen), 88, of Elyria passed away unexpectedly Monday, August 31, 2020 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born November 20, 1931 in Columbia Station. She enjoyed cooking (especially Hungarian Dishes), snow skiing, water skiing, crafting, golfing, and was a great entertainer. She wass a member of Ladies Auxillary VFW post # 1079 Survivors include her husband of 72 years John; daughter Carol (Raymond) Vilevac of N. Olmsted; grandchildren Chip (Miranda Moffitt), Nicole (Roderick) McGuire, and Paul (Rebecca); great grandchildren Dylan and Jack McGuire, Jacob and Chloe Vilevac; sister Phyllis Buckholdt of Wadsworth. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Mossie Allen (nee Kimble), and 11 siblings. Memorial Mass 1 PM Saturday, September 5, 2020 at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Avenue Elyria, Oh. 44035. (per CDC guidelines social distancing will be observed). MASKS ARE REQUIRED. Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick will be the Celebrant. In lieu of flowers family suggests those who wish may make contributions to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank 15500 S. Waterloo Rd. Cleveland, Ohio 44110.
