Obituary

Margaret Elizabeth Wohlever (nee Palmer), 97, went to be with the Lord due to Covid on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at UH Elyria. She was born October 9, 1923 in Elyria and was a 1941 graduate of EHS. She cherished her family and her family cherished her. She had a strong Christian faith and loved the Lord. Margaret loved reading her Danielle Steel books, watching Jeopardy nightly and doing crossword puzzles. She loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She also enjoyed going to karaoke where she would listen to her favorite DJ, Dennis and do the electric slide. You could find Marge nightly at Wendy's where she went for dinner, every day for over 20 years. Her picture is in their lobby. She was a golfer and a member of VFW post #1079 auxiliary. She worked many years for One-Hour Cleaners in Elyria, who treated her like family. Survivors include her daughters Linda (George) Russell of N. Ridgeville, Rhonda (Ted) Holstein of Grafton, Diane McCall (Dennis Hamilton) of Elyria, son Dale J. Smith of Amherst; grandchildren Kelly Roberts (Fred), Michael Holstein, Brett McCall (Sarah), Danny McCall, Steve McCall (Lisa), Charity Herwig, Amanda Lucero (Carlos), Jennie Allgood (Eric), George Russell (Karen), Jason Wohlever, Tim Wohlever (Kari), Tom Wohlever (Brynn), Teddy Wohlever (Valerie), Sally Mielke and John Mielke; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brothers Jack Palmer, George (Carol) Palmer, Ronald (Marie) Palmer; daughter-in-laws Belinda Wohlever, Renee Wohlever. She was preceded in death by her parents Ruth Plas and George Palmer, husband Richard, sons Dick and Tom, sister Alice Vinsick, Dale's wife Diane (Bilancini) Smith. All services have been held. Donations can be made in her name to Friendship APL. Arrangements were entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elyria, 440-322-4626.
