Louise V. Poole (nee: Slanczka) 74, of Lorain passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday May 25, 2024 following a long illness.  She was born April 22, 1950 in Elyria, and was an Elyria High School graduate.  Louise had retired from Beckett Industries as a machine operator. She treasured spending time with her family, especially playing cards, board games, and travel.  Survivors include three daughters; Tammy Whalen (Kevin) of Lorain, Deanna Ely (the late George), Melisa Harris (the late Dale) of Elyria.  Additional survivors include seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two sisters; Connie Bartlebaugh of Lorain, Brenda Fowler (Billy) of Lorain, and a brother; John Slanczka (MaryJane) of Elyria.  Louise was preceded in death by a grandson; Jason Ely, and her parents; John and Gladys (nee: Bartlebaugh) Slanczka. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Friday May 31, 2024 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
