Louise W. Lawson (nee: Jakelsky) 95, of Carlisle Twp. passed away Wednesday April 13, 2011 at Hospice of The Western Reserve at The Renaissance in Olmsted Twp. following a long illness. She was born June 12, 1915 in Denver, CO. Louise was a 1932 Grafton High School graduate. She had resided most of her life in the Elyria and Grafton areas. Louise had worked for Western Automatic and Parsh Lumber in Elyria. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Elyria. Louise was a volunteer at Elyria Memorial Regional Medical Center for over thirty eight years, and had retired as the RSVP Volunteer, and was involved with the Lorain County Senior Program in Elyria, and a volunteer for The Blood Mobile for three years. She enjoyed golf and had shot three holes in one. Survivors include a daughter; Sally Combs of Grafton, two sons; James W. Lawson (Elaine) of Ninety Six, SC., and John R. Lawson (Gerry) of Pawleys Island, SC. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. Louise was preceded in death by her husband George W. Lawson on March 21, 1981, her parents; Anton and Anna (nee: Petersen) Jakelsky, three sisters; Anne Denk, Elsie Galbraith, Ellen Taylor, and two brothers; Frank and William "Bill" Jakelsky. Funeral services 11:00 AM Saturday April 16, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church 9685 E. River Rd. Elyria, OH 44035 where the family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Rev. Henry Baum will officiate. Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery in Eaton Twp., OH. Memorial Contributions in Louise's memory can be made to Grace Lutheran Church.
