Lois Ann Downing (nee: Jordan) 90, of Elyria passed away Friday April 19, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by family.  She was born September 1, 1933, in Elyria.  Lois was a 1951 Elyria high School graduate, and a Kent State University graduate.  She and her husband were fortunate enough to retire earlier in life and were able to enjoy RV travel throughout the country. Lois was best known for her infectious laugh and great sense of humor. She loved playing Bridge, was an avid reader and loved her crossword puzzles.  Survivors include her loving husband of sixty-nine years; Billy Dean Downing, a daughter; Lynn Downing of Elyria, two sons; Dean Downing (Tami) of Twinsburg, Bill Downing (Lori) of Lakewood Ranch, FL.  Additional survivors include six grandchildren; Jordan Eichenlaub, Cole Eichenlaub, Hannah Eichenlaub, Adrienne Gilgenbach, Bethany Woughter, John "JW" Downing, and a great grandson Cooper Woughter.  Lois was preceded in death by her parents; Roy and Muriel (nee: Brown) Jordan, and two brothers; Richard and James Jordan. Family will have a small private celebration of life. Memorial contributions in Lois' memory can be sent to St. Jude Children Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
