Obituary

Lidia Dacka (nee Wolski) passed away on November 6, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Lidia and her husband, Jozef, immigrated to the United States in 1951. They settled in the Chicago area. Both she and her husband survived as prisoners in a forced labor camp during World War II in Germany. It's through these struggles and hardships that made Lidia a very strong and independent woman. From Chicago, Lidia and Jozef retired to Wisconsin. Lidia recalls the time she lived in Wisconsin as the most favorite time of her life. In 1998, they relocated to Ohio to be near family. Many people remember her as a kind and sweet soul. Lidia leaves behind her loving daughters Irene Kucin (Ken) and Diane Dacka (Douglas Fitch). Lidia was preceded in death by her husband, Jozef and grandson, Eric Kucin. The family is grateful for the tender and loving care received at Avon Oaks Nursing Home especially during her final days. Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Lidia's life will be 10:00 AM Saturday December 5, 2020 at Holy Trinity Church 33601 Detroit Rd., Avon, OH 44011. The Reverend Father John A. Misenko, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Please meet at church. Masks and social distancing required. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home of Elyria (440)322-4626. Online condolences to the family may be expressed at www.laubenthalmercado.com
