Lewis Major Sr. 80, of Grafton passed away Sunday February 5, 2017 at Keystone Pointe in LaGrange following a lengthy illness. He was born January 11, 1937 in Budapest, Hungary. Lewis worked for the Chronicle Telegram as a pressman until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, bird watching-feeding birds , gardening, collecting baseball cards, the Cavaliers and Indians. Survivors include his daughters Mary (Terry ) Shank of Lorain, Nancy (Chris) Rhodehamel of Elyria, Jeannie (Rob) Watkins of Amherst; sons Steve of Elyria, Lewis Jr. (Tek) of Manila, Phillipines, Mike of Youngstown; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Carol "Susie" (nee Lightowler). Family will receive friends 4-7PM Wednesday February 8, 2017 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria. 440-322-4626, where funeral services will be held 10AM Thursday February 9, 2017. Rev. Fr. John Seabold will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary (Grafton).
