Lewis R. "Bob" Welsandt Sr. 78, of Elyria passed away at home on Thursday September 24, 2015 following a long illness. He was born November 9, 1936 in Butterfield, MO. Bob served in the U.S. Navy and retired from The Ford Motor Co. as a foreman following thirty three years of service. He had a dedicated work ethic, and when he was not working he enjoyed watching his sons and grandson play baseball, playing golf, and wintering in Florida. Survivors include his wife of fifty eight years; Joyce E. (nee: Raney), four sons; Lewis R. "Bob" Jr. , Michael G., Daniel E. all of North Ridgeville, and John D. (Allison) of Elyria Twp., two grandchildren; Kaitlyn and Brandon. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; Louis A. and Jessie Louise (nee: Cowherd) Welsandt, and a brother; Thomas D. (Cindy). The family will receive friends 1-4 PM Sunday September 27, 2015 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
