Lawrence M. "Larry" Schuster, 71, of Elyria passed away Monday September 2, 2024 at his home. He was born January 22, 1953 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. He retired from the Rural Lorain County Water Authority where he worked in construction. Larry served in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria. Survivors include his wife Karen (nee-Horton); daughter, Jessica Sanders; sons, Zach (Katie) Schuster and Jay Sears; 3 grandchildren; mother, Fran Schuster; sisters, Nancy Blackburn, Mary Ann (Don) Kuehn, Jean (Rick) Kohls and sister-in-law, Nancy Schuster; brothers, Michael Schuster, Tim (Rosie) Schuster, and Joe (Jessica) Schuster. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Schuster, sister, Sandra Reep and brothers, John and Paul Schuster. The family will receive friends Tuesday September 10, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Frank P. Kosem will preside. Burial will be private. A Celebration of Life Gathering will follow at the American Legion Post 12, 393 Ohio St., Elyria.
