Lawrence J. Brand, 69, of Elyria passed away Thursday June 22, 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus following a long illness. He was born June 27, 1947 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Larry worked for E & L Transport for many years, retiring as a truck driver in 2013. He was a United States Air Force veteran, a member of the Teamsters Local 964, and enjoyed home renovation projects and spending time with family. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Janet (nee-Garrard); sons, Matthew Patrick (WaWa Miahat) Brand and Paul Christopher (Ashley) Brand; grandson, Redding Christopher Brand; brothers, Thomas, Gregory and Joseph Brand. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Florence Brand, a sister, Paula Currier and a brother, Patrick Brand. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday July 5, 2017 at St. Agnes Church 611 Lake Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Albert Viegas, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private. Following Mass everyone is invited to the St. Jude Family Center, 590 Poplar St., Elyria , for fellowship. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army 716 Broad St. Elyria, OH. 44035.
