Laura R. Flanigan (nee: Saunders) 54, of Elyria, wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away unexpectedly on Saturday June 13, 2015 at University Hospitals of Cleveland. She was born Laura Ruth Cantrell on December 21, 1960 in Cleveland. Laura was the second oldest of six children. She attended Lorain Senior High School class of 1978. She was a machinist and welder who spent time as a civilian contractor in Iraq. Laura enjoyed making candles, bed dolls, and fishing; she was especially proud of her "Fish Ohio" Yellow Perch. Survivors include her husband of six years Michael J. Flanigan, her children; Anthony Rigo Jr., Terrance Stakin, Sarah and Jonathan Grondin, stepchildren; Josh and Zach Flanigan, brothers and sisters; Andrew F. Saunders (Connie), Deanna M. Satorius (Dan), Richard "Marty" Saunders (Robin), Patricia M. Harris (Johnny), Brian K. Saunders (Samantha), she is also survived by grandchildren nieces and nephews, and her in laws Greg and Martha Flanigan. Laura was preceded in death by her parents; Richard Cantrell and Patricia A. "Patsy" Saunders (nee: Smolen), step father; Lawrence Saunders.
