Obituary

LaRue Harris, (nee-Saunders), 76, of Columbia Station passed away Thursday July 4, 2013 at her home following a long illness. She was born October 4, 1936 in Cleveland and was a Columbia Station resident for most of her life. LaRue was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Grafton and enjoyed volunteer work, reading, cooking and working puzzles. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James "Jim" Harris; daughters, Norma Kendle of Columbia Station, Joyce Thompson and Rebecca Harris both of Elyria; sons, James Harris Jr. of Columbia Station, Donald Harris of Elyria and Robert Harris of Grafton; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michelle, 1 sister and 3 brothers. The family will receive friends Monday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Closing prayers will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 708 Erie St., Grafton. The Rev. Fr. John P. Seabold, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Grafton. In liue of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve 300 East 185th St. Cleveland, OH. 44119.
