Larry J. Smeltz, 76, of North Ridgeville passed away Saturday January 9, 2021 Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital following a brief illness. He was born April 13, 1944 in Willard, OH. Larry was a member of the Grafton United Methodist Church, taught auto mechanics at the Ashland-West Holmes Vocational School, retiring in 2009 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Kathleen "Kathy" Barcikoski; daughters, Jill Smeltz-Klinker and Casandra (Calvin) Miller; step-sons, Edward (Mary) Stefanek and Michael (Kelly) Stefanek; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Peggy (Ken) Worcester and Patti (Steve) Van Loo; brother, Doug (Shelley) Smeltz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleon and Trudy Smeltz. Private Services will be held Friday January 15, 2021 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Grafton. Private burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, New Haven, OH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Grafton United Methodist Church 973 Mechanic St., Grafton, OH. 44044.
