Larry E. Sears 69, of Elyria passed away Thursday September 16, 2015 at home following a long illness. He was born May 24, 1946 in Elyria where he was a lifelong resident. Larry served with the U.S. Navy, and had work for York International as a Brazer. He treasured spending time with his family. He was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan, and enjoyed race cars at many tracks including The Lorain County Speedway. Survivors include his wife of forty seven years; Roberta A. "Bobbie" (nee: Butz), two sons; Kevin J. (Dianna) of Round Lake Beach, IL, Bradley R. of Murrells Inlet, SC. Additional survivors include three grandchildren; Brandon, Taylor, Zachary, three sisters; Sharon Yearley (Dennis) of Grafton, Mary K. McCallum (Russ) of Carey, NC, Pat Roberts (Dennis) of North Carolina, four brothers; George (Janet) of Grafton, Tom (Linda) of Elyria, , Mike (Donna) of Elyria, Jeff (Jean) of Amherst, and several nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; George L. and Marjorie (nee: Brubaker) Sears, two sisters; Diane Bauer, Joanne Gilliam, two brothers; John and Mark.
