Larry A. Kazel, 74, of Columbia Station passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born February 27, 1946 in Cleveland and was a graduate of Cathedral Latin High School. Larry worked for General Motors as a production planner for 39 years. He proudly served his Country in the United States Navy. Larry was a loyal Cleveland Browns fan as a season ticket holder for 46 years, and was a former High School football official..Survivors include his wife of 50 years Barbara (nee Bielanin); daughters Denise (Chris) Carlson of Chardon, Tina Kazel of Columbia Station; Stefanie (Javier) Montoya of Sugarland, TX.; grandchildren Xavier Montoya, Brooke, Cody, Mackenzie, and Keegan; great grandson Parker; sister Donna (Richard) Jelen of Grafton. He was preceded in death by parents Stanley and Doris Kazel (nee Venckauskas). A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church private family only.( per CDC guidelines social distancing will be observed). MASKS ARE REQUIRED. Rev. Fr. Ed Holland will be the Celebrant. Burial Columbia Twp. Cemetery will full military honors will be provided by VFW post # 1079 Arrangements were entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elyria, 440-322-4626.
