Kyle L. Kennedy 81, of Elyria passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday May 29, 2024 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. He was born April 9, 1943 in Rockford, IL.  Kyle had worked for Burger King, Sweden House, Perkins, Taco Bell and Lorain County Correctional Institution.  He was a member of First Congregational United Church Christ in Elyria. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, gardening and time with his plaid shorts breakfast club friends.  Survivors include  his three daughters; Lisa Simo (Mike), Lori Hornbeck (Jim), Traci Kennedy-Brockfield (Mike), additional survivors include his grandchildren; Josh, Jake, Jessica, Lindsey, Jimmy, Julie, Bridget, Tyler , great grandchildren; Lily, Ryleigh, Payton, Lucy, Frankie, Reece, Theo, two sisters; Sharon Rayburn, Ella Lee Stenberg, two brothers; Alan Kennedy, Richard Kennedy. Kyle was preceded in death by his beloved wife; Cynthia Marie "Cindy" (nee: Orr), his parents; Leland Alexander Kennedy and Ella (nee: Vallem) Kramar, and a brother; Leland Kennedy. The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM on Saturday June 15, 2024 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria (440)322-4626 where funeral services will be at 4:00 PM immediately following visitation. Burial will be private.  Kyle's family suggests that memorial contributions in his memory be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.
