Kimberly A. Behner, 48, of LaGrange passed away Sunday September 11, 2011at EMH Healthcare surrounded by her family and friends following a brief illness. She was born May 20, 1963 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria/LaGrange resident. Kim worked as a waitress at Choo-Choo's Restaurant in LaGrange for the past 7 years. She enjoyed cooking and was a animal lover. Survivors include her daughter, Crystal Behner of LaGrange; son, Raymond "Ray-Ray" Behner of LaGrange; father, Lowell Jr. "Mike" and step-mother, Sandra (nee-Gehringer) Behner of Nova; companion of many years, Jerry Thompson of LaGrange; paternal grandmother, Judy Behner of Elyria; step-brothers, Tom (Donna) Adams of Oberlin, Aaron (Dori) Adams of Spencer, and Lyle (Jessica) Adams of New London; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia (nee-Elrick) Behner in 2000, maternal grandparents, Gerald and Gladys Elrick and paternal grandfather, Lowell A. Behner Sr. The family will receive friends Wednesday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Inurnment at Ridgehill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp. will be announced at a later date. In leiu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
