Kenneth "Ed" Stinnett, 80, of Grafton passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Monday, July 15, 2019. He was born June 4, 1939 in Covington, VA. Ed was the Holbrook and Smith Maytag Repairman for 43 years. He proudly served his Country in the U. S. Navy. Ed was a sports enthusiast, Browns, Indians, and Nascar. He enjoyed golfing with his grandson. He was a member of Grafton UMC and helped run the Grafton Salvation Army alongside his wife. Survivors include his daughters Wendy Stinnett of Grafton, Tracey (Len) Raleigh of N. Ridgeville; grandchildren Cory (Natalie) Kokensparger, Sara Tague, Michael Tague; great grandchild Magnus; sisters Barbara Fisher of Texas, Becky Brandenburg of New York; brother Rodney (Betty) Stinnett of Virginia. He was preceded in death by the love of his life Joann (nee Bowen) in June 2018; beloved son Doug; brother Jim. Family will receive friends 4-7PM Thursday, July 18, 2019 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626, where funeral services will be held 1 PM Friday, July 19, 2019. Pastor Bob Spaulding of Grafton UMC will officiate. Burial at LaPorte Cemetery (Carlisle Twp.), with full military honors provided by VFW post # 1079. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests those who wish may make a donation to Grafton UMC 937 Mechanic St., Grafton, Oh. 44044.
