Kenneth W. Lindsey Sr., 65, of Elyria passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born July 26, 1955 in Cleveland. Ken was a practical joker that made everyone laugh. He enjoyed football, Nascar, drag racing, fishing, playing card tricks, and listening to rock and roll music. He had a love for dogs, especially his dogs Jerry lee and Chi Chi. Ken had a huge heart and would give you the shirt off his back. Most of all, Ken loved his family more than anything and devoted the last ten years of his life to taking care of his mother. Survivors include his children Tonya (Joey) Opdyke of Elyria, James (Melissa) Hunt of New London, Kenneth Lindsey, Jr. (Pam) of Lorain, and Krystal Moffitt of N. Ridgeville; 15 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brother, Alvin "Butch" (Mitzi); sister, Susan (Jim) Meeks; companion Cindy Arwine. He was preceded in death by his parents Alvin W. and LaVerne A. Lindsey. Family will receive friends 4-7 PM Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626, where funeral services will be held 10 AM Thursday, October 22, 2020. Social distancing and Masks are required. Chaplain Patrick McGervy will officiate.
