Kenneth J. Gumm  Sr. 84, of Grafton passed away Monday March 27, 2023 at Northwestern Healthcare in Berea following a long illness. He was born October 6, 1938 in Elkins, WV.  Kenneth served in the U.S. Army., and had worked as a machine operator.  He was known as "The Hay Man" delivering hay to local farmers.  Kenneth was a devoted family man; he loved people, and enjoyed working around the farm, and coon hunting.  Survivors include his loving wife; Erma (nee: Trott), two sons; Kenneth J. Jr. of Doylestown, Michael D. of Grafton, additional survivors include five grandchildren; Kelli, Sean, Brandon, Ashley, Tyler and two great grandchildren; Ella and Wyatt, two sisters; Marie Jenkins of Winterhaven, FL., Joyce Burgess of Sullivan, four brothers; Joe (Vonda) of Elkins, WV., Phil (Judy) of Afton, VA., Steve (Debbie) of London, John (Sue) of Westfield Center., and numerous nieces and nephews.  Kenneth was preceded in death by a son; Darrell, his parents; James and Ruby (nee: Weaver) Gumm, three brothers; Thomas, Dave, and Jimmy Dale.  The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Thursday March 30, 2023 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria (440)322-4626 where funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Friday March 31, 2023.  Pastor Neal Brock will officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon, OH. where V.F.W.
