Obituary

Kathryn Anna Fisher (nee Pease), 90, of Elyria Township, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Danbury Senior Living in North Ridgeville, Ohio. Kathryn passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side. She was born at home in LaGrange, Ohio on June 18, 1934, to the late Frank and Ada Pease.

Kathryn was a 1952 graduate of LaGrange High School. After high school, she lived at the YWCA in Elyria. She worked at Worthington Golf Ball Factory, and then later worked at The Timms Spring Co., and Elyria Spring and Specialty Co.

Kathryn married her husband, Melvin on March 12, 1955. Kathryn was a Lorain Country resident all her life living primarily in Elyria and Elyria Township until the past three years when she resided at Danbury Senior Living in North Ridgeville, Ohio.

Kathryn enjoyed being a wife and homemaker while raising her four children. Kathryn loved to laugh and had a loving and generous heart. She was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed. She was very involved in her children's lives and activities. She was a children's Sunday School helper, VBS leader, Awana leader, Brownie and Girl Scout volunteer, Room Mother, PTA member, Band Booster Parent, and a chaperone to school and band events.

She was an active supporter of any activity her children were involved with and continued this support with her grandchildren by attending music concerts, drama performances, church events, and sporting events. Kathryn was equally supportive of her husband and accompanied him when he sang and played his guitar/harmonica/banjo at various events. She also shared her husband's interest in antique cars.

Kathryn was known for her generosity and helped those in need. She used her gift of hospitality by opening her home to family, friends, traveling missionaries and singing groups. Most importantly, Kathryn loved to cook for others, and she made sure that nobody left her home hungry.

Kathryn had many interests including cake decorating, ceramics, making pinecone wreaths, a love for music, creating her own card ministry, Ladies Bible Studies, and traveling to many states including Europe and the Caribbean. Kathryn loved being outside in nature and was most content working in her vegetable garden and planting flowers. She loved watching animals and birds with the red cardinal being her favorite. Kathryn was a previous member of Elyria First Baptist Church, Jolly 60s, Silver Saints, and the Precious Moments Club. She is a current member of the Church of the Open Door and the Ambassador Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia 'Cindy' (Curt) Walters of Glendale, Arizona, Joyce (Dan) Russell of Bradenton, Florida, LaVonne Fisher of Elyria, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Robyn Fisher of Amherst, Ohio; grandchildren, Mark (Marie) Walters of Phoenix, Arizona, Breanna 'Bree' (Nate) Tarbutton of Peoria, Arizona, Jenna (Daniel) Sorensen of Gilbert, Arizona, Matthew Fisher of Amherst, Ohio, Emily Fisher of Amherst, Ohio, Chad (Lynn) Russell of Hixson, Tennessee, Connor (Sylvie) Russell of Germany, and Nathan Russell of Bradenton, Florida; great-grandchildren, Alanna, Alexander and Alora Walters, Calvin and Adley Tarbutton, Audrey and Parker Sorensen, and soon-to-be Baby Boy Russell; sister, Mabel Edgell of Elyria, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
