Kathleen L. "Kathy" Cole, (nee-Solet), 67, of Elyria passed away Sunday July 2, 2017 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born June 28, 1950 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Kathy was a teacher for the Lorain City Schools for 35 years, a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, a 1968 Elyria Catholic High School graduate, a member of the Elyria Country Club and enjoyed flower gardening. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Tim; brother, Thomas (Linda) Solet of Huron; numerous nieces and nephews and her canine companion, Cooper. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert "Tubby" and Kathryn "Tootie" Solet. The family will receive friends Thursday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Specialists 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday July 7, 2017 at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Rev. Fr. Robert Cole, Pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria. NO FLOWERS PLEASE.
