Kathi L. Martin (nee Markovich) 55 of Elyria passed away Sunday November 2, 2014 at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake following a lengthy illness. She was born July 28, 1959 in Elyria and was a lifelong resident of Elyria. Kathi was a 1977 graduate of Elyria High School and went on to obtain a degree in Social Work from the Ohio State University , and also obtainted an MPA in 2004 from Cleveland State University, and began 30 years as a social worker. She loved to travel , golf and doing yardwork. Kathi is survived by her mother Helyn her sons Alexander J. of Columbus and Michael B. (Maria) of Huntington Beach, California , brother Alan (Lisa) of Columbus, Ohio, niece Lindsey, nephew Nick, Brigid Nolan friend and Caregiver, former husband Jacob T. and Grandmother to Lucy, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father Rudy. Family will receive friends 4-7PM Wednesday November 5, 2014 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
