Katherine Margaret Larizza  75, of Elyria passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday January 18, 2023.  She was born June 10, 1947 in Elyria, where she was a lifelong resident.  Kathy was a member of St. Mary Church in Elyria where she had served on Parish Council, as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector and member of Altar and Rosary Society.  She was a 1965 Elyria Catholic High School graduate, and a graduate of Kent State University. Kathy taught school for thirty eight years; teaching at St. Jude School and St. Mary School.  She enjoyed travel, reading, playing cards, working crossword puzzles, and most of all helping others. Survivors include her uncle; James Ross (Dee Camp), and many cousins.  Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; Anthony and Carmella Larizza, two sisters; Christina and Grace, and an uncle; Rocky Ross.  Kathy requested no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Wednesday January 25, 2023 at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave. Elyria, OH 44035.  The Reverend Father Charles T. Diedrick, Pastor will be the Celebrant.
