Karin M. Jason - DeRuchie

Karin M. Jason-DeRuchie, passed away peacefully at the age of 77, on March 20, 2026, joining her Lord, her parents, Emery and Wilma Madarasi, and loved ones who preceded her.

Born in Munich, Germany, she came to the United States at age 5 and was raised in Lorain, Ohio, graduating from Avon High School in 1966. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1972 and devoted nearly 40 years to pediatric care.

Karin had a lifelong love of music and dance, especially country western line dancing. She was committed to helping others, volunteering with local churches and organizations, supporting families in need, and contributing to children’s health and welfare causes. She also served her community through roles with Genesis House and the Lorain County Legal Aid Society.

She is survived by her sons, Timothy (wife Marie and her children, Nicole and Felicia) and Toby (wife Elizabeth); her grandson, Bryan and his children; and her granddaughter, Kristina (husband Dylan) and step-grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria. Reverend Father Charles T. Diedrick, pastor will officiate. Immediately following the service, Karin will be laid to rest at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Avon, Ohio.
