Karen Lee Lane

Karen L. Lane, 79, of Elyria passed away on May 9, 2026 at the Avenue at North Ridgeville.

She was born on June 12, 1946, in West Virginia, to John and Louise Middlestetter. Karen grew up in Nova, Ohio and graduated from Mapleton High School. She worked for many years at Drug Mart in Oberlin, Where she was a familiar face to many in the community.

Karen enjoyed reading, gardening, planting flowers, and spending time with her dog. She found joy in the simple things in life. Above all she loved her family and treasured the time spent with those closest to her.

Karen is survived by her loving sons, Robert (Desiree) Swope and Richard (Denise) Swope; her brother, James Middlestetter, as well as many extended family members and friends.

She was married to her beloved husband, Lloyd Lane, for 24 years before his passing. Karen was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Lane; her parents John and Louise Middlestetter, and her sister, Kathy Middlestetter.

Family and friends will be received at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria, Ohio 44035 on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Burial will immediately follow at River Road Cemetery, Indian Hollow Road, LaGrange, Ohio 44050.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
