Karen Herman (nee Whitesel) 60 of Elyria passed away Thursday August 20,2015 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born September 15 , 1954 in Elyria and was a graduate of North Ridgeville High School. She worked for 15 yrs. For Parker Hannifin . Karen was a member of Zion United Metodist Church and Eaton Grange. She enjoyed Cake Decorating and watching wildlife. Survivors include her husband of 28 yrs. Eddie , daughters Jodi Herman , Candace Clack , Jessica Nims , Amanda (David) Smith all of Elyria , son Adam Whitesel of Elyria , sister Alberta (Nick) of Ashland , brothers Dennis of Lorain , Al of Sandusky , Barry (Rhonda) of Burbank,Oh , Roger (Charlotte) of Sullivan , Kenneth "Sam" (Beverly) of Grafton, 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Katherine (nee Hardy) , brother Larry. Family will receive friends 1-4 PM Sunday August 23, 2015 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57) Elyria 440-322-4626 , where funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday. Rev. Don Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Butternut Ridge Cemetery (Eaton Twp.)
