Karen Ann (Casey) Waggoner, née Sigurdson, passed away in the care of family on November 8, 2024, at the age of 77, in North Ridgeville, Ohio. She was born on March 25, 1947, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Waggoner, and her parents, Marian Sigurdson and Orville Sigurdson, and her step-mother, Eleanor Sigurdson. She is survived by her children, Jenny and Dan Petticord of Sheffield Village, OH; Megan and Mark Williams of Savannah, GA; Gretchen and Steve Kliafas of Houston, TX; Nathaniel and Haley Waggoner of Georgetown, TX; Sasha and Justin LaGrange of Willowick, OH; 15 loving grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and many loyal friends. She is also survived by her sisters Shelly Berson, Chris Sigurdson, Lynn Visage, and Mary Pat Sigurdson. Casey married Thomas (Tom) Waggoner on August 24, 1968, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sioux Falls. Casey found companionship in her last years with her dear friend, Alan Willcox. Casey was dedicated to her family, and her passion for education. She and Tom worked fiercely to build a beautiful life of more than 50 years together, enjoying their roots in South Dakota then eventually settling in Texas. Casey found tremendous joy and satisfaction in the work she did at Cassata, Lena Pope, and St. Ignatius high schools in Fort Worth, Texas. Casey was happiest when traveling, being near her kids and grandkids, relaxing at the beach, or  listening to the Beach Boys or the Beatles. She shared her passions for the importance of continuous knowledge, inclusiveness, and world peace with everyone she encountered. Friends and family will miss her unyielding belief in equality and her faith in the institute of marriage. Casey will be interred in Worthing, South Dakota, next to Tom, at a gathering planned for summer of 2025. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
