June E. Plas, (nee-Powell), 84, of LaGrange passed away Thursday November 27, 2014 at her home following a long illness. She was born June 5, 1930 in Elyria and was a lifelong LaGrange resident. June worked as a attendance secretary at Elyria High School, retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria and the Alter and Rosary Society of the church. She was also a member of the Farm Bureau Council and the St. Gerard Magella Study Club. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Albert; daughter, Kathy (Joe) Yourkiewicz of Carlisle Township; son, Andy (Yong) Plas of Arizona; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Miller of LaGrange. The family will receive friends Saturday (TODAY) from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. in the Wiegand Room of St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church. The Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Private burial will take place at a later date at LaPorte Cemetery, Carlisle Township.
