Judy L. Howard (nee: Talarsky) 83, of Oberlin passed away Wednesday February 18, 2026 at The Cleveland Clinic in Avon. She was born August 25, 1942 in Elyria. Judy had worked as a medical coder for The Cleveland Clinic and as an EMT for the City LaGrange. She treasured spending time with family and friends especially her grandchildren. Judy was a regular member of The Elyria United Polish Club; she was a supporter of several animal rescue groups. Judy drove stock car as one of the first women to compete in The Powder Puff Race at The Lorain County Speedway, and was a 4H Advisor for many years. Survivors include her husband of sixty years; David P., two daughters; Kelly S. Oswald (Kenny) of Elyria, Kerry L. Jameson (Kevin) of Elyria, a son; P.J. Howard (Christina) of Spencer, and five grandchildren; Kortlynn, Chloee, Peter, Rylee, and Caleb, and a sister; Sue Read (Carroll) of Elyria. Judy was preceded in death by her parents; Paul and Harriett (nee: Hallauer) Talarsky. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Monday February 23, 2026 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria (440)322-4626 where funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday February 24, 2026. Burial will be at Ridge Hill Cemetery in Amherst Township. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions in Judy’s memory be sent to Friendship APL 8303 Murray Ridge Rd. Elyria, OH 44035.
