Judith I. Weitzel, (nee-Cullin), 84, of Elyria passed away Wednesday October 17, 2018 at the New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a brief illness. She was born April 26, 1934 in Elyria and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Judy was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria where she sang in the choir for more than 60 years. A 1952 Elyria Catholic High School graduate, Judy was also a 4-H advisor along with her husband Richard for the Buckaroos 4-H horse club. She formerly worked at Suzin' L Chocolatier and enjoyed spending time on the family farm and spending time with her children. Survivors include her daughters, Toni (Steve) Barnhart, Regina Weitzel, Michelle (Hans) Van Wormer, Sharron (Gregg) Dill and Amy (Tyler) Hunt; son, Ric (Julie) Weitzel; grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda) Van Wormer, Audra (Trevis) Waters, Hannah (Jeremy) Barkhurst, Grace Dill and John Hunt; 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Richard on March 12, 2018 and her parents, Robert and Marion Cullin. A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday October 24, 2018 at St. Mary Church 320 Middle Ave., Elyria, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. The Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary Church.
