Joyce A. Tammaro Coleman (nee: Krieg) 91, of Elyria passed away Friday July 18, 2025 at Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital. She was born March 21, 1934 in Lorain.  Joyce lived in South Amherst most of her life, she graduated from South Amherst High School in 1952. As a late teen she was hired as a model for a local clothing store; she became the "Gerna Girl".  Joyce was a beautiful woman on the outside, but also a strong woman on the inside.  For her generation, she was ahead of her time. She filled the role of mother and father after losing her first husband early in life.  Joyce worked for U.S. Steel from 1952 to 1954, Nordson from 1970 to 1974, Stanadyne from 1974 to 1978. She moved to Arizona in 1978 where she worked at Intel Corporation until 1986.  Joyce returned to Ohio and worked for a prominent physician's family as a child caregiver until 2000.  She took great delight in providing Ohio vacations for her two grandsons; Michael and Matthew, at the same time found much joy as a caregiver for Alexandria and Ethan. She said that was the happiest time of her life.  If you had visited her and her daughter's home located on The Black River, you would see another great love of hers; plants and flowers.  She took a plain plot of land and turned it into paradise.  Like her father, she loved working in the soil, and did it well into her 80's. She gave limitlessly to her children and those she loved, including her much loved pets. Her children always knew that wherever Mom was...that was their home. She was a non-stop worker and you could always count on her to "tell it like it is". Survivors include three sons; Michael and Mark Tammaro, Curt Coleman, and a daughter; Lori Tammaro. Two grandsons; Michael and Matthew Tammaro of Arizona, a brother; Gary Krieg (Marcia), and her nieces and nephews.  Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of three years; Michael L. Tammaro, ex-husband; Lloyd H. Coleman, her parents; Edward and Estelle (nee: Husar) Krieg, brothers; Edward and Richard Krieg, sisters; Caryl Alessio and Janet Whitman. Joyce's wishes were for family and friends to think of a memory of her; "Smile and Be Happy". Funeral services will be private.
