Joyce M. Van Amburgh (nee Kinzel), 85, passed away at home with her loving family by her side on December 7, 2025.

Joyce was born to Urban and Emma (nee Wohleber) Kinzel on February 13, 1940, in Grafton, Ohio, where she was a lifelong resident.

Joyce was a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School, Class of 1958. She began working at EST Bank, and then First Merit Bank before joining Ashland University until she retired.

She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Church in Elyria and then Our Lady Queen of Peace in Grafton, Ohio. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, camping, luncheons with her high school classmates, and spending time boating with life-long friends, but nothing meant more to her than spending time with her grandchildren and family.  Also, for most of her life, she was a dedicated diarist.

Joyce is survived by her loving children, Michael (Elisa), Barbara (Joseph) Farrar, Daniel (Nicole); six grandchildren, Michael and Sadie Farrar, Emma, Anna, Mason and Austin Van Amburgh; including many nieces, nephews, and loving family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kenneth, and her husband of 57 years, Ronald.

The family will receive friends 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday December 11, 2025 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria (440)322-4626. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Friday December 12, 2025 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church 708 Erie St., Grafton (please meet at church). The Reverend Father John P. Seabold, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private.
