Josephine H. Shook, (nee-Haumesser), 86, of Elyria passed away Saturday August 12, 2017 at Elmcroft Assisted Living in Lorain following a long illness. She was born October 10, 1930 in Litchfield and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Josephine was a active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Elyria and enjoyed sewing and baking. Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Douglas) VanDyke; grandson, Paul Koehn; brother, William Haumesser. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul in 2007, daughter, Donna Mae Shook; son, Gary Shook, sisters, Grace, Irma, Margaret, Mary, Ruth and Eileen and a brother, Lawrence "Butch". The family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Specialists 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday August 17, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church 1140 West River Rd., Elyria. The Rev. Don Weldon will Offificiate. Burial will be at South Murray Ridge Cemetery, Carlisle Township. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
