Obituary

Joseph B. Manning, 76, of Grafton passed away Sunday November 4, 2018 at his home following a long illness. He was born March 25, 1942 in Pittsburgh, PA. and grew up in New Waterford, OH. and lived in Avon before moving to North Ridgeville for many years before settling in Grafton 4 years ago. Joseph worked for Rini-Rego's as a meat cutter for 56 consecutive years. A United States Army veteran, Joe was happiest when he was spending time with his family. He was a great family man, loving father, and devoted grandfather. He enjoyed telling jokes, music, art, and attending sporting events of his grandsons. His family and friends will always remember him as being determined, kind, gracious, generous and in possession of a warm sense of humor. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Elfrieda (nee-Brandstadt); son, Mark (Mary) Manning; grandsons, Joseph "J.J.", Nicholas "Nick" and Jonathan "Jonny"; sister, Maureen Olnhausen; brother, Patrick Manning and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Manning. There will no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday November 10, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church 708 Erie St., Grafton. The Rev. Fr. John P. Seabold, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Helping Hands backpack program at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria. Online condolences may be expressed at www.laubenthalmercado.com
