Joseph F. Kaminski, 83, of Vermilion passed away Monday January 5, 2015 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain following a sudden illness. He was born January 16, 1931 in Elyria. Joe retired as a Regional Manager for Hill's Department Stores and served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his retirement he worked at the BP gas station in Vermilion. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Pamela (nee-Elbert); daughter, Michelle Scibbe of Amherst; son, Michael Kaminski of Lakewood; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Kaminski. He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Wladecki and brothers, Jack Kaminski and Steve Kaminski. The family will receive friends on Thursday January 15, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. The Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick will Officiate. Private burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Avon.
