Jonathan R. "Jon" Schuster, 48, of Elyria passed away Saturday January 6, 2018 at his home following an apparent heart attack. He was born November 17, 1969 in Elyria and was an Elyria resident for most of his life. Jon was employed at L & W Engineering Company in Avon as a Lead Die Setter. Survivors include his daughters, Emily (Aaron) Roberts and Julia Schuster; sons, Ethan and Brady Schuster; grandchild, Paislee; former wife, Elizabeth; sisters, Joann Spade, Julie Yoshimoto, Nancy Blackburn, Mary Ann Kuehn and Jeanie Kohls; brothers, Joe, Mike, Larry, Tim and Paul Schuster. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Peg Schuster, sister, Sandra Reep and a brother, Jimmie Skaggs. The family will receive friends on Thursday January 11, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Specialists 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
