Jonathan R. Camp 58, of Valley City passed away Monday July 9, 2012 at Lakewood Hospital following a long illness. He was born December 15, 1953 in Berea. Jonathan had served in both the United States Marine Corp. and the U.S. Navy retiring after twenty two years of service as a Chief Petty Officer. He loved cooking, working on cars, helping and being with people. Jonathan was a life time member of V.F.W. of Valley City. Survivors include a daughter; Natalie P. Camp of Elyria, a son; Steven J. Camp of Elyria. Additional survivors include a step son; Edward O. Camp of North Royalton, a step daughter; Eryn N. Camp of Elyria, two sisters; Julie A. Camp of Jacksonville, FL., Alisa C. Long (Paul) of Worthington, OH., two brothers; James B. Camp of Cleveland, William A. Camp of Medina, a nephew; Jayson Long of Worthington, and former wives; Kathleen M. Camp of Elyria and Alicia L. Bose of SC. Jonathan was preceded in death by his parents; Julian L. and Mary A. (nee: Bateman) Camp. Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday July 13, 2012 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626 where funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Friday immediately following visitation. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted, OH. Jonathan's legacy lives on with his gift of sight through eye donation.
