John G. Young 74, of Sheffield Village passed away Saturday February 22, 2014 at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake following a three month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born October 20, 1939 in Fairview, Ohio. John was an Avon Lake High School graduate. He was a firefighter with the Avon Lake Fire Department for twenty seven years, and had worked ten years for The Ford Motor Company. John loved watching his grandchildren play sports, and in his younger years coached his sons baseball teams. He enjoyed working on cars, woodworking, gardening, fishing, and riding bikes. Survivors include his wife of fifty four years; Diane M. (nee: Komlosi), four sons; Randy (Debbie) of LaGrange, Timothy (Diann) of Bedford, KY, Ron (Shannon) of LaGrange, Chris (Teresa) of LaGrange. Additional survivors include nine grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents; John and Emma (nee: Eiben) Young, and two brothers; Robert and James Young.
