John David Walls 74, of LaGrange passed away on Monday May 3, 2021 with his devoted wife by his side after a valiant battle with cancer. John was born on August 29, 1946 to Helen and Samuel Walls. Following his graduation from high school he was drafted into the minor leagues as a relief pitcher for the Cleveland Indians in 1965. After chasing his baseball dreams, John went into the family's ready mix concrete business and remained there for thirty five years. John's vision and values grew his business, and in 2006 he and his sons; David and Chad founded Elite Concrete Inc. (ECI) where he was the company's president. He will be remembered for his immense love of family, his relentless work ethic, and his love of the game, baseball and racquet ball. He leaves many fond memories coaching his children and their teammates. John loved LaGrange. He is survived by his cherished and beloved wife of fifty two years; Debbie Walls (nee: Schey). He was the loving father of David Walls (Shannon), Chad Walls (Missy), Cara Zaremba (Ed), five grandchildren; Summer McLaughlin (Josh), Gavin Walls, Dominique Walls, Brady Walls, and Quinn Walls, and three siblings; Linda Walls, Peggie Whitney (Clayton), and Brock Walls. John was preceded in death by his parents; Samuel and Helen (nee: Johnson) Walls. John's family will be celebrating his life privately. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions in John's memory be sent to LaGrange United Methodist Church 105 W.
