John R. "Bob" Victor

John Robert Victor, known to most as “Bob,” passed away peacefully at home on September 14, 2026, at the age of 95 of natural causes. Bob was the second youngest of 11 children born May 25, 1931 to parents Otho and Carrie (nee Miller).

A Korean War veteran, Bob served in the United States Air Force, being stationed in Korea, where he intercepted Morse code messages. After leaving the service, he worked at Ridge Tool for 36 years. Bob filled his time with family, frequently visiting Pennsylvania, hunting, fishing, and helping others with projects. He was a skilled craftsman who could make just about anything out of wood. He also played the organ, piano, and accordion.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; his 10 siblings: Mildred (Boyd) Mayle, Madonna (Harry) Carr, Elsie (Larry) Capanna, Virginia (Bingo) Cramer, Edwin (Kay) Victor, Iona (John, Brent) Danko-Mullen, Grace (Frank) Kluska, Clifford (Gail) Victor, Frances (Floyd) Grgetich, and William (Doris) Victor; and son-in-law, Bill Henthorne. His loved ones will be waiting to greet him as he finally comes home.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Rhonda and Cyndee, his son-in-law John, and his granddaughters, Emily (Jason) Balser, and Tess (Kris) Henthorne, along with his great granddogs Sophia Balser and Betty Henthorne. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A man who enjoyed a party for others but not for himself, Bob asked for no services. So in lieu of a memorial, his family asks that those who knew and loved Bob share a story about him with a friend or family member.

Bob’s family would also like to extend a thank you to Veterans Affairs who have supported his health care needs and his caregiver, Frankie, who has been by his side for over a year. Also thank you to Mercy Health Hospice by Compassus.
