John W. Vargo, Jr., 95, of Elyria, passed away on January 12, 2025. He was a Korean War veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 12. He retired from Ford Motor Company in Brookpark after many years as an electrician. He enjoyed golf and fishing. John had a long and happy life and will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his sons, Brian (Michelle), Alan and Jason; grandson, Michael; granddaughter, Jenna; sister, Barbara Collins. He is preceded in death by his wife, Laverne (nee: Lauffer); parents, John Sr. and Helen; sisters, Julia and Betty. All funeral services are private.
