John Thomas Salter February 16, 1945 – September 17, 2025

John Thomas Salter, 80, of North Ridgeville, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025.

Born February 16, 1945, John was a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1963–1965. He worked as a bricklayer for over 40 years, leaving behind not just buildings but lasting memories.

His greatest joy was being with his family. He is survived by his children Kimberly (Tim) Benetto and Jon (Tracey) Salter; grandchildren Holly (Vann) Johnson, Richard Blevins, Ava and Natalie Salter; and great-grandchildren Brooklyn Blevins, and John and Elara Johnson. He also leaves behind brothers Charles (Judy) Salter and Mark (Debbie) Salter; sisters Rita (Randy) Yost and Lori Deamon; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Susan Salter; his parents, Charles and Loretta Salter; sister, Monica Salter; and nieces Judy Salter and Aimee Pando.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Harmony Hospice and North Olmsted Nursing and Rehabilitation for their compassionate care.

Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Vietnam Veterans of America(VOA) in John's memory.
